Biography: Jamie Summers b. Reading UK in
the 1970s
As a kid I
was making kaftans out of curtains, shoebox
apartments with film case seating and painting
murals on the bedroom walls.
My creative working life started in the early
90's in mental health occupational thearpy.
I worked as Creative Activities Instructor
while studying part time for an Art and Design
foundation which I passed with distinction
at Arden, Manchester in 1995.
I
graduated with a first BA(Hons)Degree in Fashion
and Textile Design at Liverpool Art school
in 1998, collecting a BBC Vision Design Award
and working film in London as a Costume Design
Assistant for Working Title’s “What
Rats Wont do”, “Hilary
and Jackie” and “Beautiful
People”.
After a Post Graduate Certificate in Multimedia
at Liverpool University. I moved to Brighton,
and in 1999, worked for 4 years as lead graphic
designer for a multi-media e-learning company,
along side producing pop promos with writer,
Billy Cowan for a few local bands and the
short film 'a_dress' based on my artwork of

I do for fun.
I
moved back to Manchester in 2003 to develop
own artwork, still working at times with writer
Cowan, I created the animation for the Short
multimedia stage play ‘Daddy’
at the fierce festival in Birmingham in 2004
and the set design & build for the stage
play 'Stigmata'
at the Liverpool Unity and Drill Hall, London
in 2006.
Getting
involved in local issues I also offered leaflet
and design work free for community campaign
groups.
In
the Bag - Exhibition 2008 - invited
to submit work for an 'exploration of shopping'
at Sale Waterside

Company Various theatres across the UK
and Ireland, & music composed and recorded
for 'The
Right Ballerina' 2012 UK tour. Design
work for 'Still
Ill' 2014 UK tour.
In
2015 I also added yoga and mindful movement
teacher into the mix and having trained in
India and the UK. This is my main work and
